KyberVision Unveils Psykinematix v1.8 for Student & Standard Editions, and v2.3 for GPU, Bits#/Display++/Neurokinematix & Metropsis Editions

Psykinematix 2.3: The world most advanced software solution for visual psychophysics!

SENDAI, Japan — October 18, 2018 —KyberVision Japan LLC unveiled today several major updates of Psykinematix, its macOS-only OpenGL-based software dedicated to visual psychophysics.

Psykinematix v1.8 Student & Standard Editions are an incremental free update that brings bug fixes, improvements, and compatibility with Apple's latest macOS 10.14 (Mojave). Version 1.8 remains fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 ("Tiger") to macOS 10.13 ("High Sierra"), and still runs on both older PowerPC-based and newer Intel-based Macintosh computers.

Psykinematix v2.3 GPU Edition is an incremental free update that brings bug fixes, improvements, and compatibility with Apple's latest macOS 10.14 (Mojave). This version remains fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 ("Mountain Lion") to macOS 10.13 ("High Sierra") on Intel-based Macintosh computers. The GPU Edition takes advantages of the computation power (GPU Computing) available in modern graphics cards. Their computation power is harvested without any additional work from the end-user: built-in and custom stimuli can be generated on the fly and in real-time hence minimizing the amount of required video RAM and freeing the CPU for more important tasks.

Psykinematix v2.3 Bits#/Display++/Neurokinematix Editions are an incremental free update that brings bug fixes, improvements, and compatibility with Apple's latest macOS 10.14 (Mojave). Version 2.3 remains fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 ("Mountain Lion") to macOS 10.13 ("High Sierra") on Intel-based Macintosh computers. The Bits#/Display++ Edition is the result from a fruitful collaboration between Cambridge Research Systems (UK), Namoto Trading (Japan) and KyberVision Japan LLC: it brings support for the Bits# Stimulus Processor, Display++ LCD Monitor and accessories from Cambridge Research Systems which specializes in bringing to market the best hardware solutions for vision science.

Metropsis Edition v2.3 is an incremental free update that brings bug fixes, improvements, and compatibility with Apple's latest macOS 10.14 (Mojave). This version remains fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 ("Mountain Lion") to macOS 10.13 ("High Sierra") on Intel-based Macintosh computers. The Metropsis Edition of Psykinematix is Cambridge Research Systems' new version of their visual function assessment suite for Clinical Research for macOS. It resulted from another fruitful collaboration between Cambridge Research Systems and KyberVision who brought together their expertise in software, hardware, and clinical development for Vision Science. Metropsis for macOS is in use at multiple clinical sites in the UK, USA, Japan, Canada, France, Germany and Portugal.
