SENDAI, Japan — January 13, 2024 —KyberVision Japan LLC unveiled today several major updates to Psykinematix, its macOS-only OpenGL-based software dedicated to Visual Psychophysics & Vision Sciences. The Universal versions are a 3-year-long effort that brings the critical compatibility with the recent releases of macOS including the latest macOS 14 ("Sonoma") running on either the Intel 64-bit or Apple M-Series Macintosh computers. All updates are free to ensure a smooth transition for all our customers.

Psykinematix v1.9.4 Student & Standard Universal Editions are an incremental free update that brings bug fixes, improvements, and more important compatibility with the latest macOS releases and Apple M-Series computers.

Psykinematix v2.6 GPU Universal Edition is an incremental free update that brings bug fixes, improvements, and more important compatibility with the latest macOS releases and Apple M-Series computers. The GPU Edition takes advantages of the power of GPU computation available either in discrete graphics cards or integrated GPU in modern CPUs. Their computation power is harvested without any additional work from the end-user: built-in and custom stimuli can be generated on the fly and in real-time hence minimizing the amount of required video RAM and freeing the CPU for more important tasks.
